Snapstay insulators fitted to steel posts
Snapstay electric fence insulators are easily fitted to most size steel posts. The Snapstay insulators are very strong with the load taken by the two legs that snap onto steel posts. A pin is available to stop vertical movement if required and is built to last as it doesn’t take any horizontal load from impacts. Other benefits are;

Snapstay insulators used with 2.5mm or 3.2mm Electric fencing wire
Snapstay electric fence insulators are designed to accept wire by pushing it into the slot in the multi purpose head. This is a simple process and can happen after the wire is tensioned or as the snapstay insulators are fitted to each post. The wire can be removed easily by pulling it out the same way. A handy hint is to always push or pull the wire on a slight angle to help in passing the gate in the slot. Other benefits are;
The space in the multi purpose head is large enough to ensure the wire is not bent when posts are twisted when thumped in to the ground.
Snapstay insulators used with white tape 12mm to 40mm wide
Snapstay electric fence insulators are designed to accept electric tape from 12mm to 40mm wide. The tape is fed into the slot in the multipurpose head until it fits around the curved space in the head. This is designed to ensure that the tape is not folded after fitting and will display its full width to horses or other animals. The tape can be removed the same way or simply pulled through the insulator from the side. Other benefits are;
If the tape is not under tension then the Snapstay insulator may not need the pin as friction in the legs may be sufficient to hold the insulator in place. This depends on the size of the steel posts used.
This is also true when reverse fitting the insulator to steel posts.

Snapstay insulators used with electric round twisted cord/rope
Snapstay electric fence insulators are designed to accept twisted electric cord. The cord is pushed into the slot provided or threaded through the curved space in the multi purpose head. The cord can be removed by pulling it through the slot or out of the curved space from the side. Other benefits are;
If the tape is not under tension then the Snapstay insulator may not need the pin as friction in the legs may be sufficient to hold the insulator in place. This depends on the size of the steel posts used.

Snapstay insulators reverse fit on steel posts
Snapstay electric fence insulators are easily fitted on the reverse side of steel posts. If CORD or TAPE is being used and no real tension is required the Snapstay Insulators will hold on to the reverse side of steel posts by pressure and friction. If wire is used under tension then it is advisable to wrap a short length of tie wire around the post and through the insulator slots in the legs and twitch it tight. This will hold the insulator firm for as long as required. Other benefits are;
The insulator head is further out from the steel post than a standard front of post fit.
